Originally written as a little love lullaby for a person I loved very much, when it came time to do the band I had riffs to contribute and something to honor her by, and turned this into a song about pain, loss, and grief. Syracuse was a very cold and sad place at the time, mostly still is. We tend to sit in basements with nothing to do but think and write music about our insular experiences. Bad weather, and oppressive local government will make a very serious group of people.
