We were listening to a lot of Sigur Ros' at the time when the ( ) album came out, and it very much inspired this instrumental. We were always listening to other things while the rest of Syracuse seemed to be listening to extreme metal and grind, everyone wanted to start a grind band and be like As the Sun Sets, but we just had a lot of heavy feelings and we were tired of pushing them down. We just said "fuck it, this is how sad and depressed we are. Everything is always falling apart, no one understands us, our lives are miserable. Here's a soundtrack to that."

We come from nothing. Minimum wage working world of slaves with no future or hope of opportunity, and one of us is dying of cancer. Yea, that was our reality, and we grew up very fast.
